Defense lawyers representing the Armenian prisoners, interpreters, representatives of the alleged victims, and state prosecutors <strong>Abbas Abbasli<\/strong>, <strong>Anar Alekberov<\/strong>, and <strong>Sevinj Gasimova<\/strong> were also present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Azerbaijani media reports, the hearing continued with the prosecutors&#8217; presentations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prosecutor <strong>Abbas Abbasli<\/strong> drew the court&#8217;s attention to alleged &#8220;crimes&#8221; committed by the Armenian Armed Forces during the 44-day war. Referring to what he described as evidence allegedly presented regarding defendant <strong>Arayik Harutyunyan&#8217;s<\/strong> role in what he called a &#8220;criminal organization created and sponsored by Armenia,&#8221; Abbasli argued that Harutyunyan&#8217;s appeal was &#8220;unfounded.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prosecutor <strong>Anar Alekberov<\/strong> presented what he described as evidence concerning numerous alleged crimes committed during Armenia&#8217;s former occupation of territories that Azerbaijan considers its sovereign territory. He also presented what he characterized as evidence relating to the alleged criminal activities of <strong>Bako Sahakyan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prosecutor <strong>Sevinj Gasimova<\/strong> likewise addressed what she described as evidence concerning alleged crimes attributed to <strong>Arkadi Ghukasyan<\/strong>, arguing that his appeal was also &#8220;unfounded.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The prosecutors asserted that all evidence in the criminal case had been examined comprehensively and thoroughly by the court of first instance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next court hearing is scheduled for <strong>July 27<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Emma Chobanyan\/Factor.am<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On July 24, the Baku Court of Appeal continued hearing the appeals filed against the verdicts in the politically motivated cases of the former military and political leadership of Artsakh.
