Trump heralded &#8220;the end of an age of terror and death and the beginning of the age of faith and hope and of God,&#8221; reported the Armenian Assembly of America (Assembly).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-t7ec4270\">In addition to this historic development in furtherance of peace in the wider region, President Trump has also focused his attention to resolving long-standing conflicts elsewhere, including Armenia and Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-04997275\">During President Trump\u2019s meeting with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the signing of a peace framework in the White House on August 8th between the two countries, President Trump promised to raise the issue of hostage release with Azerbaijan\u2019s President. Speaking with Armenia\u2019s Prime Minister, Trump made note of the fact that Baku was holding Armenian hostages: \u201cSo you said there\u2019s 23 Christians that you\u2019d like to get out. 23? Because I\u2019m going to ask him to do that. I think he\u2019ll do it for me, too.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-6jczv280\">\u201cWe urge President Trump to ensure that the Armenian Christian hostages in Baku are released immediately, just as he demonstrated he can do so successfully with the release of the hostages held by Hamas in Gaza,\u201d stated Armenian Assembly Co-Chairs Oscar Tatosian and Talin Yacoubian. \u201cTrue peace cannot be achieved while hostages remain unjustly held in Baku,\u201d they continued. \u201cHaving witnessed so much devastation, we pray for a true end to conflict and a permanent peace.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Washington, D.C. &#8211; Today, in announcing the end of the war in Gaza and the return of the Israeli hostages, President Donald J.
